Enhancing and strengthening our community's health

Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital’s mission is to improve the health of the people and communities we serve. We support that mission through generous donations from our patients and their families and the community. Thanks to your generosity, we’re able to maintain our tradition of excellence in patient care and community service. This includes being able to purchase the latest medical equipment and state-of-the-art technology.

Foundation Programs

The Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital Foundation also has created special programs, featuring various commemorative options, which honor donors, patients, families and loved ones. The following are just a few of the Foundation’s programs:

Established by the Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital's Foundation in 2011, C.A.M.P. (Community Assisting Medical Patients) was organized by a volunteer committee to raise funds to support the following communities:  Sullivan, Bourbon, Cuba, Leasburg and Steelville. The goal of the program is to provide support directly for patients and families, including pharmacy assistance, durable medical equipment and/or hospital services. Patients in need of financial assistance are encouraged to contact the hospital's financial counselors.

To support the program, C.A.M.P. funds are raised all year long with a finale celebration held in conjunction with the Duck Derby in the late summer.  All funds are held and disbursed through the Hospital Foundation benefitting people in the local communities.  C.A.M.P. also relies on donors and local businesses to support the program during the year, as well as the event.

Giving Tree

Trees are places of relief and recuperation, drawing strength from their surrounding environment. Similarly, Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is a place of relief and recuperation, and we draw our strength from the surrounding communities. That’s why we created our Giving Tree – to symbolize this mutually nurturing relationship.

Our Giving Tree is a highlight of the hospital’s Emergency Department lobby. The eye-catching, beautiful tree centerpiece is framed by numerous brass and copper leaves on its wood branches, with stone plaques at the base of the trunk. Each leaf and stone is engraved with the name of a donor or “in honor of” a donor’s loved one.

Healing Garden

The Alta Farris and Don King Healing Garden is the crown jewel of our completely remodeled campus. Opened in September 2011, the garden provides visitors with a variety of soothing experiences – a calming water fountain, a beautiful arbor, shady trees, fragrant flowers and artwork – adjacent to the hospital’s state-of-the-art cancer center. Extensive research in oncology and environmental design has established a strong link between the environment and the ability to tolerate chemotherapy. This healing garden was designed specifically with this connection in mind.

To help complete our spacious 6,000-square-foot garden, we launched the Healing Garden Campaign. Donors can honor loved ones by purchasing a commemorative brick, planter, bench or tree. Each item, which will include a special inscription, will be placed in the healing garden.

How can I help?
