Missouri Baptist Sullivan Mammography Department Receives Show Me Healthy Women Grant
The MBSH Mammography department recently received grant funding from the “Show Me Healthy Women” (SMHW) program. This grant allows women without insurance or those with insurance that doesn’t cover breast screening services, to get breast screening services if they meet the criteria for the program.
Participants must meet certain age and financial criteria to be eligible and are required to have a Clinical Breast Exam (covered under the grant), prior to having a routine mammogram screen. In addition, the grant also covers diagnostic services for women who are experiencing breast symptoms. “We are extremely excited to be able to offer these services to the women in our community. We also hope that by receiving SMHW funding, we can reach out to those women who may not have been getting their annual breast screening services due to lack of insurance for any type of reason” stated Travis Little, radiology manager.
If you would like to find out if you qualify for the SMHW grant a MBSH, please call 573-468-1155.
