Walking Track at Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital

by Andie Cottrell, Lead Tech/Fitness Trainer

Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital has provided our community a convenient place to walk for over 15 years. With help from the City of Sullivan, the hospital track, located on the west side of the hospital campus, was created to provide an easily accessible walking area off the roadways for our patients, families and community members. Over the years, upgrades have taken place to improve the safety and function of this popular community icon.

In June of 2010, the track was widened and re-paved to accommodate strollers and wheel chairs.  In 2012, with a grant from the Missouri Foundation for Health, lights were installed for the convenience and safety of our after-dark walkers and specialized outdoor exercise equipment was installed which have proven to be very popular additions. Upgrades in the landscaping provide the public with a scenic, partially shaded area to exercise. We at the Sullivan Sports Fitness and Rehab Clinic, a department of Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital, encourage our community to visit the outdoor track behind the hospital or call our Rehabilitation Clinic at 573-468-1340 to learn more about our track and other exercise options offered at our location.
