Cardiac Rehabilitation Services at Missouri Baptist Sullivan
Beginning in the spring of 2014, the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services expanded coverage for cardiac rehabilitation services for beneficiaries with chronic heart failure (CHF). CHF is now be added to other existing diagnosis which include: Post MI, Coronary Artery Bypass (CABG), Current stable angina, Heart valve repair or replacement, Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) or coronary stenting and heart or heart lung transplant. CHF is one of the top reasons for hospitalizations and readmissions in the Medicare population. Cardiac Rehabilitation along with other services below are offered in the Cardiology department at Missouri Baptist Sullivan.
· Cardiac Rehabilitation
· Pulmonary Rehabilitation
· Echocardiography(Ultrasound imaging of the heart)
· Stress Test (Chemical stress testing, ultrasound imaging stress test, walking and non-walking)
· Transesophageal echocardiography
· 24 and 48 hour holter monitoring
· 30 days event monitoring
· 24 hour blood pressure monitoring
Heart fun facts: Give a tennis ball a good, hard squeeze. Your using about the same amount of force your heart uses to pump blood out to the body. Even at rest, the muscles of the heart work hard---twice as hard as leg muscles of a person sprinting.
