Yesterday Ended Last Night

I was watching a movie last night called "We Are Marshall." This is a true story of the tragic loss of the entire Marshall University football team, their coaches, booster, and others as a result of an airplane crash in November 1970. It tells the story of how a University and the people of Huntington, West Virginia dealt with and recovered from this horrific tragedy.

I was watching a movie last night called "We Are Marshall." It tells the story of how a University and the people of Huntington, West Virginia dealt with and recovered from this horrific tragedy.

It is a movie that challenges the watcher to look at yesterday, take stock of it, and move toward a brighter day. Yesterday is filled with mistakes, missed opportunities and even tragedy. Life tends to be filled with yesterdays.

Have you ever said to yourself or someone else, "If I had it to do over again, I would___________." You fill in the blank. Marshall University, under the coaching of Jack Lengyel, totally rebuilt the football program from the ground up. The same chant can be heard today by those who attend the University,  "We Are......Marshall!....  We Are Marshall!.....We Are…..Marshall!"

Yesterday cannot be changed, no matter how hard you try. The best that you and I can do is put one foot in front of the other, take stock of yesterday because, turn our eyes toward the new horizon because,

"Yesterday ended last night."
