Steve Lipstein named 2013 St. Louis Citizen of the Year
BJC President and CEO Steve Lipstein was named the 2013 St. Louis Citizen of the Year. The award for civic leadership is sponsored by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and selected by a committee of past honorees.
“While this kind of recognition comes to a person in the lead role, it shines on all of us who work at and with BJC HealthCare,” said Lipstein. “It reflects on the all-important role BJC and our 26,000 employees serve in the larger St. Louis community.
BJC HealthCare is one of the largest nonprofit health care organizations in the United States, and is focused on delivering services to residents primarily in the greater St. Louis, southern Illinois and mid-Missouri regions. With 2012 net revenues of $3.8 billion, BJC serves the health care needs of urban, suburban and rural communities and includes 13 hospitals and multiple community health locations. Services include inpatient and outpatient care, primary care, community health and wellness, workplace health, home health, community mental health, rehabilitation, long-term care and hospice.
Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is one of the affiliated hospitals in the group comprising the BJC HealthCare system. The complete replacement of the Sullivan facility with the latest technology and equipment were made possible by being part of this large organization.
