Our Services

Inpatient & Critical Care

Medical/Surgical/CCU - - 573-468-4186, extension 1257

Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital offers a variety of services including intensive care, medical/surgical, skilled nursing (SWING) and hospice.

The six-bed Critical Care Unit - - equipped with state-of-the-art cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring - - cares for patients requiring critical care intervention for acute or potentially life-threatening ailments and surgical recoveries in private rooms.  We offer families compassion and condition updates during their difficult situations.  Our nursing staff strives to provide the highest quality care possible through ongoing education and training.

The Medical/Surgical Department is a 26-bed general medical, surgical and telemetry unit that provides comprehensive biopsychosocial nursing to patients requiring general medical, pre- and post-operative care, urology, cardiac and pediatric care.  Department nurses provide exceptional care to infants, children, adolescents, adults and seniors.

An integral part of the Hospital is the Skilled Nursing (SWING) bed program - - a family- and patient-focused area that strives to restore residents to their maximum level of functioning following their hospital stay.

Residents admitted to the SWING program meet certain Medicare criteria with needs such as IV antibiotics, diabetes education, medication regulation or pain control.  Physical, occupational and speech therapies are available to help residents who have suffered a stroke, are recovering from surgery or suffer from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).  Nursing care is provided 24/7 by RNs, LPNs and CNAs.  A Certified Activity Therapy Aide involves residents in activities, crafts and special meals.  The goal of the SWING program is to get residents back to their pre-hospitalization level of activity.

The Hospital also offers a Hospice Room to provide support and care for patients in the final phase of a terminal disease.  Our goal is to help the patient live as fully and as comfortably as possible.  The Hospice Room promotes family-centered care and personalized services for the patient and loved ones.
