New Chemistry Analyzer

MBH-S Chemistry AnalyzerMissouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital now has a new chemistry analyzer. This new technology will be used for nearly any type of patient test. "This analyzer offers dry slide technology, so there are no wasted reagents, saving us time and funds," says Debra McNew, lab manager. "Water is hard in Sullivan, so having an analyzer that doesn't require water purification reduces costs. An added benefit is the calibration stability of approximately six months versus three months on other machines. This means less technician time, so we can optimize their productivity."

The 1,400 pound machine provides patients with two other benefits. "Patients don't have to leave Sullivan for these tests and the throughput is quicker so results are available faster," says Mike Dunham, medical technologist. "Instead of waiting 40 minutes for results on larger chemistries, we only have to wait 20 minutes. On smaller chemistries, our wait time will be as little as 12 minutes versus 15 or 20 minutes."
