Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital and the BJC Medical Group are very pleased to announce that Alia Durrani, MD is now offering her service as a Retina Specialist in the Sullivan Specialty Clinic.
Dr. Durrani is originally from Cincinnati, OH. She went on to obtain her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. During her years as an engineer, she completed extensive research at the National Institutes of Health in Interventional Radiology. She then went on to graduate from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and matriculated into ophthalmology residency at the world-renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. After her completion of the program, she traveled back to Tennessee and then finished her Vitreoretinal Surgical fellowship at the Vanderbilt Eye Institute. In September 2018, she joined The Retina Institute in St. Louis.
When asked about coming to St. Louis, Dr. Durrani noted, “I’m thrilled to be joining The Retina Institute, where it’s clear that the structure of the practice and quality of the physicians construct a well-thought out framework with patient care, education and research in primary focus.” Dr. Durrani was excited to join TRI to bring her clinical and surgical skills, along with academic goals to the table.
The MBSH Specialty clinic is thrilled to have her offer her specialty to the patients seeking care in our area. Her service will be welcomed to patients who can receive care locally.
