MBSH Partners with SHS

by Nick Miller, MBSH EMS Manager

MBSH Partners with SHS

Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is partnering with Sullivan High School to provide a healthier environment for the students. MBSH Ambulance places ambulances at sporting events such as football games, band festivals, cross country meets, and events where there is a strong probability of injuries.

Along with providing an ambulance at high risk events, Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital provides an Athletic Trainer through the school partnership program with the Sullivan High School.  Melissa Mikesch, MBSH Certified Athletic Trainer covers both home and away sporting events.  She is available every day at the school working with athletes to prevent injuries, as well as offering rehabilitation following injuries and present at sporting events to treat injured athletes.

“Melissa does a great job with our students,” states Tim Leasor, MBSH Paramedic.  “As a parent of a high school athlete I am thrilled to have her working with the students to ensure their health and well-being.”  Fall sporting events are right around the corner and the hospital EMS and Rehab staff are doing all they can to get the students ready and be there when those activities begin.
