Obstetrical Services at Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital
Our providers offer personalized, compassionate care for expectant moms, understanding their needs and concerns, and collaborating with their patients to create birth plans that support their labor and delivery wishes. This may include certain pain relief options; a birth ball; adding a doula to the labor support team; etc. If you plan to have a doula present at your birth, your provider will plan to meet with both of you prior to your labor to review and finalize your birth plan.
Our providers provide management of low- and high-risk pregnancies, genetic testing and counseling, ultrasounds, and virtual visits (in certain cases). In most cases, you’ll see your chosen provider during your regularly scheduled appointment. However, in the event that your provider is unavailable for an appointment or even your delivery, one of the other providers will step in to oversee your care. Following your delivery and discharge from the hospital, your provider will schedule a follow-up appointment to monitor your post-partum recovery.

In addition to prenatal and childbirth care, our providers offer the following gynecologic services:

Midwifery Services at Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital
We’re also proud to offer midwifery services as part of our mother-baby medical care. Midwifery offers many benefits for expectant moms and their babies
The certified nurse midwives (CNM) at MBSH, support low- to moderate-risk expectant moms as they prepare for motherhood, while offering individualized care plans that best address their needs. Every patient is unique, so CNM's prioritize getting to know each patient, providing guidance and support with the least amount of intervention that’s medically necessary.
All midwifery patients also have access to the amenities offered in the Mother Baby Unit, including comfortable, private labor and delivery suites; labor support resources such as birthing balls, birthing stools and squat bars; pain management options; etc.

Office Hours
Our providers offer regular hours during the week from 8am to 5pm and refer expectant moms to call the Mother Baby Unit (573-468-1961) directly for any medical issues that may rise after-hours.

Our Ob/Gyns and certified nurse midwife work in the Sullivan Medical Office on Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital’s campus. Most insurance plans are accepted. Be sure to contact the provider’s office for the complete list of accepted plans.
